  • It better be in Good Shape – Fitness suited to purpose.

Approaches to Health and Fitness

Three Ways to Know the Truth in Indian Traditions

In Indian Traditions there are three ways to know the truth, facts:

  1. श्रुति (Shruti)
  2. युक्ति (Yukti)
  3. अनुभूति (Anubhuti)

1. Shruti (Trusted Testimony)

  • Much of what we believe or trust to be true is Actually Shruti. We trust someone who told a thing.
  • Eg: We have been told that Earth Moves around the sun. We believe that. We have been told Water is H2 and O2 combined through some process. We believe that. We have been told certain germs harm us. We believe that.
  • We have been told that the place we live in is called India and we believe that.
  • Our parents ate rice and wheat products or potato tomato and we simply accepted that as our food.

2. Anubhuti (Personal Experience)

  • Then over time we also realised truth of some of the things told to us.
  • We were told that if we put finger in socket, it can give us shock.
  • And We still put that. Got the shock and that was ANUBHUTI personal experience. It can come after being told or it can be our own observation original first hand at that. And Later we hear others saying the same thing.
  • And We thus have sync between Shruti and Anubhuti.

3. Yukti (Reason and Logic)

  • Then there is Yukti. We may try to say “I am being Scientific”.
  • I Trust data. What we are doing we are resorting to reason.
  • Thats a valid approach. You had Three apples and Your child ate one.
  • SO even without looking at other apples YOU are sure THERE are two left.
  • This is mathematically proved 3 – 1 = 2.
  • The reason can take you to a level and no further. In any logic it does matter the ability to the one proposing the logic to have that capability and the other person should be also able to comprehend that logic.
  • Else it easy to “not get it” by logic.
  • Its also easy to get fooled by logic. For some one with a greater intelligence may come up and rage your logic to ground.
  • No doubt we hear so many theories and postulates in field of “Science” and the very next generation we find that the TRUTH was NOT really SO True. It was upturned or modified in light of new findings.

From Inner Vision to Outer Proof: Pratyaksha Praman and J.C. Bose

  • There is another way to arrive at truth, Through PRATYAKSHA प्रत्यक्ष Praman:
    • प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण
    • अनुमान प्रमाण
  • RISHI the Mantra Drashta have this Capacity to “See” the truth Direct.
  • That kind of Perception is beyond the Capacity of Mind.
  • So When We hear so much of: It is NOT supported by science.
  • It did not come out of inference or logical deduction.
  • Let us keep this in mind.
  • Take the example of Jagadish Chandra Bose:
    • The Rishi Insight: Like a Rishi with the capacity of Pratyaksha (direct inner perception), Bose intuitively perceived the unseen truths of nature—recognizing that life pulses through plants just as it does in animals, and that energy travels invisibly through space.
    • The Scientist Proof: Because the Western scientific world demanded empirical validation and would not simply accept inner truth, Bose stepped into the laboratory. He engineered tangible proof through sensory perception. He crafted a spiral-spring/iron-particle coherer (and later an advanced iron-mercury-iron coherer) to make microwave wireless wave detection remarkably reliable. Later, he invented the Crescograph to physically demonstrate the hidden pulse and life within plants.
  • Much like Einstein later stating that gravity could bend light—an idea initially met with disbelief before being empirically proven—true vision often arrives first through direct perception, only to be caught up with by science later.
